The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) brings its scholarships closer to those who want to avail of free skills training and even help its graduates in finding a job.
This is after TESDA Director General Guiling 'Gene' Mamondiong stepped up the agency's promotion of the scholarship grants in the provinces, municipalities and districts, when he talked about the two-day "National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Enrollment Day and Jobs Bridging" which will be held nationwide on February 27-28, 2018.
AGREA Farm School, the first TESDA-accredited farm school in Marinduque and certified by the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Training Institute as an Organic Agriculture Learning Site, will have a booth at the Marinduque State College Covered Court on the said dates.
Supported by TESDA’s Training-for-Work Scholarship Program, the farm school offers Organic Agriculture Production National Certificate (OAP NCII) scholarships onsite to interested and qualified applicants.
Most recently, AGREA Farm School celebrated the 100% passing rate of all 25 first batch students who took the OAP NCII assessment and qualification.
A NATIONAL EVENT
The National TVET Enrolment Day and Jobs Bridging will be held simultaneously nationwide in local government units (LGUs), sports complex, malls, municipal stadium, and other designated areas.
TESDA Director General Guiling ‘Gene’ Mamondiong shared that TESDA's goal is to bring its different programs and services closer to Filipinos with the help of local government units and their officials.
“This activity will be conducted in partnership with the Local Government Units (LGUs), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Regional/Provincial Offices of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), companies and industries, technical-vocational education institutions (TVIs), and other stakeholders,” said Director General Gene Mamondiong.
Mamondiong also revised the granting of TESDA scholarship program to assure that new scholars will have better learning and training. Its goal is to equip the scholars about modern technology and global competitiveness in line with what the global market demands.
Requirements for the enrollment include a valid ID or NSO birth certificate and 1x1 pictures. On the other hand, job applicants should bring their TESDA certificate and resumé.
The TESDA scholarship program is expected to serve as a driving force for change and to uplift the lives of the Filipino people who will contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
