Cherrie De Erit Atilano
President and Founding Farmer

Cherrie is the President and Founding Farmer of AGREA Philippines. She is also a co-founder of HATIENDA Holdings Inc., an agritourism and agri-processing space to produce Filipino agricultural products for local and exports market. 

She started working with the farmers at the age of 12 by teaching them sustainable ways on farming that she read from a book. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Major in Horticulture Specializing on Tissue Culture from the Visayas State University in Leyte.

She was one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines in 2007 for her academic excellence, Exemplary Leadership and strong social responsibilities. She is also a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum. Because of her track record and advocacy to promote global food security and sustainable agriculture programs and helped thousands of farming families in the Philippines for almost 17 years, she was awarded as a Young Global Laureate 2014 by the International Youth Organization – Youth Action Net. She had a chance to meet the Holy See Papa Francesco in Vatican, Rome, Italy on November 19-20, 2014 for the gathering called “Towards a New Global Mindset: Overcoming Social and Economic Exclusion”. She was recognized as the ASEAN Young Business Leader in 2014 by the New Zealand Foundation. She was named by Rappler Philippines as one of the Four Filipinas to Watch 2014. She was also recognized as a Peace Awardee 2015 by the Muslim community thru the SPMUDA International Organization during the International Day of Peace. 

Currently she was awarded as the EARTH Mover Award of RAPPLER and one of The Outstanding Women in the Nation Service (TOWNS) 2016. She was also awarded as the Most Outstanding Young Agriculturist and Young Achiever of Negros Island. She was also chosen by Channel News Asia as one of the 10 Asia New Generation Emerging Leaders (ANGELS) 2016. She was awarded as one of the Inspiring Filipina Entrepreneur 2017 by Go Negosyo and the Republic of the Philippines President His Excellency Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She was also chosen by the Australia Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as one of the Asia- Australia Emerging Leaders in the Region. The World Economic Forum Global Shapers Community Advisory Council Steering Committee Members completing the 22 chosen young members of the World Economic Forum. 

AGREA as a company and her as the social entrepreneur was also awarded by the Asia Pacific CSR Council and UN Global Compact the Global Responsible Business Award 2017 for Agriculture Excellence.

She is a radical optimist, a dreamer and a true believer that Filipino farmers are world-class. She has been traveling the world as an advocate and inspirational speaker especially on her advocacy for global food security.

Meet the AGREA Team

Jonathan C. Quinto
Director of Agricultural Abundance

Born and raised in Torrijos, Marinduque, Jonathan is a fifth generation farmer and fisherman. After juggling his college studies and farming for eight years, he received his Diploma in Agricultural Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Technology (DAT-BAT) at the Marinduque State College. He took an 11-month Occupational Internship in Agro Studies from the Mehadrin Tnuport Export, Moshav Hodaya, in Southern Israel.

He was champion (Group Category) during the “El Liderato: First National Leadership Masters Challenge” in December 2014 in Camarines Sur. He was also an international delegate to the “Dux Gregis: First International Youth Leaders Convergence” in June 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Jonathan is also a recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Young Torrijoseño Award in recognition of his outstanding ability, accomplishments, and service to the community.

He is a former president of the Student Council Federation and member of the Board of Trustees of the Marinduque State College. Currently, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Marinduque State College Credit Cooperative.

Rafael Constantino R. Seño
Communications and PR Director
Training Director, AGREA Farm School and Assessment Center

Rafa is a Filipino youth leader, an events host and organiser in Marinduque, a graphics and branding designer, environmental advocate, and Rapport and Communications Director at AGREA.

In 2000, Rafa took Electronics and Communications Engineering at the New Era University in Quezon City. From 2004 to 2012, he worked in various national and multi-national companies such as eTelecare Global Solutions, [24]7 Customer Philippines, JP Morgan Chase & Co., and Thomson Reuters. He returned to Marinduque in 2012 and took a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication at the Marinduque State College.

Some of his achievements include: Second Prize Winner (Group Category) and Leader of the Year Top 10 National Finalist (Solo Category) during the “El Liderato: First National Leadership Masters Challenge” in December 2014 in Camarines Sur; International Head of the Global Extemporaneous Speech Face-off and Overall Technical Director at the “Dux Gregis: First International Youth Leaders Convergence” in June 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He is also currently the Chapter President of AFS (American Field Service) Intercultural Programs Philippines–Marinduque.

He joined AGREA in November 2014 and has helped developed AGREA's social media and website presence from the ground up. He currently heads the company's Rapport and Communications Department handling corporate and product branding, internships, social media, and website development, among others. He is also the Training Director of the AGREA Farm School and Assessment Center.

Benjamin Jorge L. Cadag
Director of Agribusiness and Farm Management

Jorge is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Agronomy Specializing in Crop Production and Management at the University of the Philippines - Los Baños. He is a Licensed Agriculturist. 

Jorge was President of the University of the Philippines Moriones - Los Baños Chapter (2014), Vice President for External Affairs of the UP Guild of United Minds (2015), and Assistant Publication Committee Head of The League of Agricultural Engineering Students (2011). He was also an Alumnus of UP Weed Science Society (2016), and Senior Patrol Leader of Marinduque Council in 2009 Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree. 

Vanessa Leah F. Nicopior
Associate Director of Social Programs

Prior to joining AGREA, Vanessa was responsible for monitoring community-based agro-enterprise developments in Visayas (Cebu, Iloilo and Leyte) and Mindanao (Agusan del Sur, Compostela Valley, Misamis Occidental, Surigao del Sur, Bukidnon) through field visits/coaching, farm site assessment and farmers organizing through the National Livelihood Development Corporation.

With the Department of Social Welfare and Development, she was responsible for monitoring the projects under the Transition Investment Support Plan specifically the “ARMM Stimulus Fund”, and conducted site visits to Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Marawi City.

She is a graduate of Community Development/Psychology at the University of the Philippines Visayas, Iloilo; and is a candidate for a Master in Community Development from the College of Social Work and Community Development University of the Philippines, Diliman.

Miguel Codiñera
International Collaborations Officer

Miguel was raised in the U.S., earning a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations and Public Health from American University in Washington, D.C. He comes to AGREA with a background in environmental education and international development, interning for various environmental advocacy organizations in D.C. and for four months in Kenya.

After graduating in May 2017, Miguel came to the Philippines as a Kaya Collaborative Fellow. Through this program, he completed an eight-week internship with AGREA’s Department of Engagements and Negotiation and the Department of Business Opportunities. He has now transitioned to a full-time role coordinating external events and establishing international partnerships as an International Collaborations Officer.

Mary Ann Reyes
Administrative and Finance Head

Mary Ann graduated from the University of the Philippines – Los Baños with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Major in Horticulture specializing in Landscaping.

From 1998 to the present, she has already worked with various multinational companies and institutions with focus on landscape maintenance, landscape design, and horticulturist management.

Mary Claire O. Limpiada
Administrative and Finance Officer

Claire was born and raised in Balanacan, a fishing village in Mogpog, Marinduque. As a youth leader with a servant's heart, Claire joined AGREA as a volunteer for more than a year engaging in projects such as community development, environmental rehabilitation, farm development, and youth empowerment and mobilization.

In 2014, Claire was a participant and group leader in Project CHAMP (Community Health Advocates Mobilization Program) funded by the Department of Health Region IV-B. Project CHAMP sought to harness the Filipino youth’s passion in helping the society by engaging them in the different health-related projects in the provinces of the region. In 2016, she finished second at the Regional myLEADER Agripreneurship Summit held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. In September of that year, Claire was invited to speak at the “Empower: Youth Agri-Camp and Leadership Summit” at the Agricultural Training Institute 4H Camp, in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines.
