Hindy Tantoco-Weber is the Co-Founder of Holy Carabao Holistic Farms.
Hindy is a mother to four children, a fashion designer, and a biodynamic farmer. She co-founded Holy Carabao Holistic Farms in 2007 from the simple intention to bring home better food to her family. It began as a small backyard garden that eventually grew into the first door-to-door organic food delivery in our country as well as a trusted supplier of organic produce to supermarkets. She pours her compassion and consciousness into everything she endeavors, from farming to fashion, and her other advocacies including curative education, environmental stewardship, animal rights and holistic wellness.
Holy Carabao practices agriculture inspired by biodynamic and permaculture principles, with a strong thrust on soil regeneration. Not only is growing food on healthy soil better for the body, it also eases climate change as it aids in carbon sequestration.
Their product offering includes vegetables, fruits, herbs, medicinals, poultry, eggs, carabao milk and cheese, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised native pork, indigenous grains, and condiments made fresh from their farm kitchen. Their foremost product is the ready-to-eat Superfood Harvest Bowls and LifeForce Tonic juice drinks. The harvest bowls are a complete meal in a bowl that contain an array of all-natural, organic ingredients that are nutrient-dense, packed with anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, and are low-caloric. They are great for paleo, keto, and vegan dieters, or anyone who simply wishes to eat at least one healthy meal per day. The tonics are a collection of five kinds of fresh, cold-pressed, undiluted juices using only premium vegetables, superfood powders, spices and herbs.
Its founders, Hindy Weber and Melanie Teng-Go, advocate a holistic approach to every aspect of their social enterprise. An integral part to their business is education. They spearheaded a farm curriculum for grade school and high school students at the Acacia Waldorf School in Laguna. They also give talks and workshops to engage and enlighten children, parents, teachers, and urban professionals to a more conscious approach to wellness. Some of the topics they cover include Farming For Your Family, Biodynamic Agriculture, The Holy Plate: A Healthy Kitchen Makeover, and Farm-to-
To this day, 11 years after its inception, Holy Carabao has remained loyal to its original intent: growing and providing healthy, living food for families. Every product and process upholds the interconnectedness and sacredness of life, keeping People and Planet at the heart of their work.
